Although Alisa has siblings, she wouldn't meet them until she was around 16. Raised as an only child, she was quiet and reserved by nature. Michael complements her by making her laugh and pushing her out of her comfort zone.

Michael says he first saw Alisa in the 10th grade at a Young Black Scholars' Event. It wasn't until a football game - possible the Turkey Tussle when Alisa saw him (he grew a few inches) and called him up into the bleachers. They were inseparable their senior year until the moment they both went off to college in different states.

On the cusp of transitioning into adulthood, the two developed a strong friendship, helping each other navigate challenges of teen life. The spark of that friendship, never went away.

Thirty-three years later, Michael DM'd Alisa via IG in December 2023. It took Alisa until NYE to respond. After several text catching up on life, they decided to meet in person for lunch. An hour lunch turned into four hours of listening, laughing, crying, and processing being in each others' present after so much time, and yet falling right into the feeling of being each others' safe place.

In his IG message, Michael referenced how Alisa had the Pasadena NAACP at her graduation party after an incident with the local police. Alisa thought it would be fun to thus attend an SCLC gala for their 1st unofficial date .

Once again the two became inseparable, doing various activities to get to know each other as adults. Here they are at an Opera, but you could also find them at a Dodger's game, a nonprofit gala, dinner with friends, or a walk through Huntington Gardens.

They even went to Hawaii, a place neither had ever visited. It was her sorority's regional conference and Michael was smitten being surrounded by so many Deltas.

Most people think it is Michael who is the kid at heart, but take Alisa to Disneyland and the real kid comes out. The last time they had visited Disneyland together was back in 1990 for Grad Night.

A big part of getting to know one another was getting to know each others' families. The Greggs took Alisa on her first cruise ever to the Caribbean. It was a great way to bond and let his mom Joan and brother Louis know that he will be in good hands.

The reuniting of Michael and Alisa, felt destined, as if it was part of a greater cosmic plan. They needed to have their own journeys to shape them into the people who they are today and in love once again, with each other.

Now it is time to begin new memories as they prepare to celebrate their love with friends and family. The countdown begins and we are all so excited.
